State of Mind?
I’m getting more and more readers…I’m so happy.
Well, in the ever-so-tired argument of what goth/emo really is, I’ve heard that it’s three different things…it’s either a state of mind, a fashion sense, or an expression. What do I think? I think its an expression.
I mean, if someone claims its a state of mind, they’re just redirecting thier issues onto a common label just to have something to blame their problems on. If they claim its a fashion sense, then they’re the real posers, not those who admit it.But if they say its an expression, they are the true emo goths, because they show their inner selves, and it fits the stereotype and label of a goth.
And I am still in love with my sorrow, thanks. ^_^ It’s still here, all that’s left of yesterday. Catch the reference?
Hey, you know the band Dir en Grey? The Japanese rock band? I have to be familiar with their music for my job, so I downloaded them and listened to them. And yet, I still haven’t figured out…are they rock…are they metal…or are they just noise. I know that I don’t completely know all the words they’re saying, since I’m only semi-fluent in Japanese, but I’d still like to be able to hear what they’re saying, instead of it just sounding like “Kabfbcdiqpguriqghnveuiwoooooooaaaaaahhhhh!” If you listen to Utada Hikaru, you can hear what she’s saying, and I can pick out words that I know and translate. But Dir en Grey…I don’t know.
Same with other bands that I need to know…I mean, I try, but some of them are just…well, I don’t know. I got used to The Used…ohh, great sentence…, and I’m used to Thursday, and I’m starting to like Boys Like Girls…damn these sentences suck. I just don’t know about Dir en Grey. Or Rage Against the Machine. Perhaps the first song I heard wasn’t their best…but I still need to learn them………….here we go.
You know, one of these days I’m going to write an entire post in Japanese. Then no one will be able to read it but the Japanese. Amerika wa posuto wo yomimasen. ^_^ How fun.
Well, so long and good night.
